Guess who’s back..back again.. Sha.. just kidding guys, thanks for putting up with me. Stacey here to tell you about two of my MOST favorite spots in RVA, Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint and Gelati Celesti. Want to know the best part about both of those? They have multiple locations!! Jack Brown’s is in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, VA, along with a few other spots. Gelati Celesti is scooping all over Richmond and in Virginia Beach!
Jack Brown’s is our go-to spot for all the beer options and delicious burgers. My roommate, Matt is a Notcher and trying to become part of the Notch Club by trying 100 different beers! The best part of him trying different ones is I can always venture a taste to get out of my comfort zone and that has led to some awesome beer finds that I wanted to share with you!

Gose is where its at right now for me + give me a wine “theme” and you know I am ALL IN! Two Roads Brewing Co. out of Connecticut is doing a tanker truck series of different sour beers. My #1 is the Sauvignon Blanc Gose. It is made with actual Sauvignon grapes and has the perfect amount of tart grapeyness + sour, it is fruity and lime-y without being too much. A second favorite was the Framboise Rose Gose. It has just enough floral + the tangy raspberry that it is so refreshing! Definitely recommend hopping out of your comfort zone and trying some of the beers that Jack Brown’s offers!
Onto my favorite part of any time of day.. the food. Ha! Jack Brown’s has some 100% outlandish burgers that are to.die.for. Matt’s favorite is The Cowboy Burger which has BBQ sauce, bacon, and cheese. My go-to order is The Greg Brady & Y’all it has MACARONI & CHEESE on it. What?!? It is so good. All their burgers come with a pickle and they serve fries by the basket, its always enough for us to share. If you’re like Matt and you come hungry, you can definitely eat at least 2 burgers + fries. Also, don’t forget to add Jack Brown’s Sauce!

We go to the Jack Brown’s on Libbie Ave. in Richmond and just a few doors down is Gelati Celsti, which makes for a convenient after dinner stop. Since we live in Scott’s Addition, we frequent that location a lot too – bonus points because we can walk off the ice cream on the way home! All of their locations are so fun and beautifully designed!

Gelati Celsti keeps 24 house flavors year round (they semi-recently added my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, Rainbow Cookie) and they rotate approximately 85 different flavors throughout the year. So anytime you stop in you can try a classic or mix it up and try something new. & because I am big on giving you guys pro-tips.. here’s one: Don’t let the lines scare you off! Gelati prepackages and sells ice cream sandwiches and pints! So if you just need a quick fix, swing by the cooler and grab what you want. Matt’s pro-tip is to go for a float, he always get the rootbeer floats there and swears by them! Bottom line – life is short, make it sweet.
