Goooooooo Nuts! Hey all! A couple weeks ago Zach and I got tickets for The Richmond Flying Squirrels for date night! We decided to ditch the regular seats and sit in the Peanut Gallery and it was such a treat!
The Diamond is located near Scott’s Addition and is the perfect spot to head to after an early dinner. Tickets range from $9 to $16 so it is an inexpensive night out! Tickets for the Peanut Gallery are $16 but well worth the extra dollars! You get to share a wicker bench with your date and you each get a bag a peanuts to snack on during the game! The Peanut Gallery is also right near the best view of the stadium and the coolest spot to hang, The Bullpen Deck!
Every Thursday and Saturday home game they have fireworks post game. We have seen the show several times and are always impressed! We planned it perfect and went to a Thursday night game to see the show!
The cool thing about The Diamond is their support of local craft beer and WINE! Yes ya’ll, they serve JAMES RIVER CELLARS wine and New Kent wine! Glasses are $7.50 but they have Wine Wednesday specials during their Wednesday games for the first two hours! They have a variety of craft brews… Ardent, Hardywood, Stone, just to name a few! Every Friday home game they offer happy hour from 6-8pm. Happy Hour drink specials include $2 domestic beers. Enjoy live music and FREE t-shirts every Friday as well!
Post game we love to hit up Sweet 95 for a sweet treat. They are right down the road from The Diamond. Sweet 95 is only open during the summer so if you want one of their famous traffic jam sundaes you need to hit them up soon! I absolutely love their cookie monster traffic jam and Zach loves their baklava sundae. Warning… they are HUGE! I usually only eat half… I know, I know, don’t get one… I just can’t resist! Sweet 95 is open Sunday – Thursday 5-9, and Friday – Saturday 5-10. Sips and Trips Tip – bring cash, they do not accept cards!
