I’m back for another fantastic date night idea and I have a good one for y’all, The Caboose! This is an adorable wine market and cafe that we have been frequenting often. We love hitting up their free wine tastings on Fridays and we LOVE their Wednesday date night special. For $40, you get a bottle of wine, an app to share, 2 meals, and a dessert too!
The Caboose is located on the railroad tracks of historic downtown Ashland, Virginia. If you’ve never been, the charm of this little town is fabulous. One of the things we enjoy about The Caboose is that they have killer daily specials:
- Monday – $3 draft beer
- Tuesday – $3 gourmet hot dogs
- Wednesday – $40 date night
- Thursday – half price growler fill & 9oz wine pours
- Friday – Signature dinner special & Wine Tasting in Market
- Saturday – Brunch & NO corkage fee
The Market offers a variety of wine from around the world. VA wine too!!! They also have a variety of local, national, and imported craft beer. You can pick up all your supplies for a DIY cheese and charcuterie board too… my favorite thing in the WORLD. And my favorite part, every Friday, they have FREE wine tastings. For my beer lovers, on the first Friday of the month, they have beer tastings to go along with that wine!
The Cafe offers a rotating farm to table seasonable menu. They offer a ton of small plates as well as salads, sandwiches, and entrees. Zach and I love to order a bunch of little plates plus a salad for me and a sandwich for him. They offer beer on tap and wines by the glass but you can pick up any wine from their market and they will open it for you for a small corkage fee of $5. I also LOVE how they have espresso and divine fresh delectable desserts.
