Hey ya’ll! Hope you are having a fabulous week. If you have been following along on my Instagram you probably noticed I planned a girls weekend recently! This was the fourth annual girls trip and I can’t wait for next years trip already! We always visit wineries, breweries, and distilleries off Nelson 151. If you have not planned a trip to this part of Charlottesville, you have to go! There are so many amazing places to stop and enjoy.

Accommodations
If you plan on staying close to Nelson 151 there are a few options. If it is a larger group, I highly suggest staying in Wintergreen. This is a resort that has AMAZING houses on VRBO and Homeaway. You are literally on a mountain so you have amazing views. I have also heard amazing things about The Inn at Blue Mountain, this is a house that is on the Blue Mountain Brewery property. If you are just going with one other person, I suggest a bed and breakfast. My favorite one just closed 😦 but I have heard amazing things about Orchard House Bed and Breakfast.
Friday

Since we are all traveling to get to the cabin the first day, I always decide to keep it light and fun. We all arrive, pop some bubbly, and head out to dinner. If you are staying in Wintergreen, I suggest Devils Backbone. It is just a drive down the mountain. If you are staying farther up on 151, I suggest Blue Mountain Brewing, their pizza is THE BEST. Post dinner, pop open some wine, play games or just chill. The house we stayed at had an amazing gas fireplace so it was so cozy!
Saturday
We followed the itinerary below!
Veritas Vineyard and Winery – We started at Veritas and got there right when they opened. I suggest starting at the bigger places first to avoid the weekend crowds. Tastings here are $10 and you taste 6-10 wines. I really enjoyed their Petit Manseng, Cabernet Franc and Red Star. Veritas has a lovely tasting room and beautiful view.

Pollak Vineyards – I LOVE Pollak… they were a bit too busy to enjoy a tasting so we all split a bottle and enjoyed the views. I picked the Pinot Gris ~ it is a crowd favorite… AKA a porch pounder. I have written about Pollak several times before. Make sure you click the Charlottesville tab on the blog to be directed to more wineries and more in depth reviews!

Valley Road Vineyards – Next was my favorite, Valley Road Vineyards. I absolutely love their tasting room and their wine. Tastings here are $10 and they have so many fun wines! My favorites include their Sauv Blanc and Torn Curtain. We laid out our huge picnic here and enjoyed hanging out in their tasting room. They have a huge table that fits a large crowd. I frequent Valley Road quite often and I am never disappointed. They have such a variety of wine and they are all fabulous!

Silverback Distillery – Next is another crowd favorite, Silverback Distillery! If you want to have a good time, I would head to Silverback. They make the best seasonal cocktails! All my girlfriends love stopping here to get a variety of mini cocktails to share. I always get Shock the Monkey, a coldbrew coffee with vodka… I also LOVE their Bloody Marys! They have so many to choose from, it is the best to get a bunch and share!

Hill Top Berry Farm and Winery – Hill Top is always a go to stop on girls weekend. I have to stop here every year to stock up on Cranberry Wine for the holidays. There is NOTHING better than Cranberry wine on Thanksgiving. Hill Top Berry Farm is known for producing “true to the fruit” wine and mead. They make over 32 different wines and meads. A lot of their options are sweet but I love how the Cranberry wine is tart. Tastings here are comped when you buy a bottle of wine… WIN!
Bold Rock Cider– Our last stop for the day was Bold Rock. Unfortunately their main area was closed for a private event but their Barrel Barn was open. I was eager to try their new hard seltzers and I loved them! Everyone enjoyed a glass while we hung outside!

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I had such a fun weekend and I’m so glad I got to share it with you. I haven’t laughed that hard in such long time. I really hope you can plan a trip to Nelson 151, there really are some amazing places to visit!
