Hey all! It has been a hot minute since I gave you a date duo! Recently we went to my favorite RVA restaurant, Stella’s to celebrate the last day of school! We also had a mini date to Charm School! Both of these places are sure to leave you happy!
Stella’s – If you love Greek, you need to visit Stella’s! Stella’s is a small restaurant off Lafayette Street. There is rich history in Stella herself, her first restaurant opened in 1983 and in 2011 Stella’s opened where it has been ever since. They have an amazing happy hour from 4-6 Monday through Friday at the bar ~ they have great prices on apps and carafes of wine. The bartenders are always making fun cocktails and they even have prosecco on tap 😉 Zach and I always sit at the bar and enjoy a carafe of the Greek White. They have amazing bread that you can dip in their own olive oil. We usually share their Classic salad which is their Greek salad. I am a creature of habit and love to get the Pork Souvlaki. It is to die for. The meat is always cooked to perfection. This past time we went, Zach got the Pikelia. It is a little bit of everything which is the perfect meal! You get pork souvlaki, tiropita, spanakopita, kreatopita, and dolmades!
Stella’s also has three grocery stores where you can pick up salads, sandwiches and even full meals to go or eat in. There is one in Scott’s Addition that we frequent a lot! Zach and I often pick up snacks to take with us to wineries! This is a great option if you want to try out the food before making a reservation!
Sips and Trips Tip *** Be warned! It is best to come with a reservation if you prefer a table. Personally we have gone each time and sat at the bar with no problems. There is also a community table if you do not make a reservation.
Charm School Social Club – I love this place! Charm School is a hip spot for an ice cream date. The decor is super cute and takes you back in time with an old school feel. All of their ice cream is made in house with minimally processed ingredients. A lot of their toppings are even made in house! Another amazing thing they offer is Vegan ice cream. You can check their Instagram for their current flavors. They also offer floats and sundaes. Charm School is located downtown right near Quirk Hotel.
