Boho Wine Tents & More

Joleen Family Winery

I would have to say the best thing that has come out of Covid are Wine Tents. I have had the pleasure of visiting two wineries with Wild Tribe Co. Tents Potomac Point Winery and Joleen Family Winery. Wild Tribe Co. is a glamping and events company that elevates outdoor experiences. They have teamed up with a few wineries to give you the ultimate insta worthy experience. Last weekend I finally got to visit the newish winery, Joleen.

Joleen Family Winery was formally a nursery. The land was passed on to three children who decided to turn it into a winery. Joleen is located in New Kent overlooking Tom Brooks Lake. Their tasting room is adorable and spacious. We enjoyed our time in a Wine Tent overlooking the lake. We started with flights and then had our picnic with a bottle of Family Red. The Family Red is their Bordeaux blend comprised of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Following our visit at Joleen, we hit the road and drove to Charlottesville. We ventured to White Hall Vineyard* to visit Phil their cellar master. Phil and I have become wine friends and I love seeing what White Hall is up to. We got to taste through some of their new vintages and new releases. Some of our favorites included their Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Petit Manseng, Rose, and Vin Gris. Their newest addition is their 2020 Breakheart Rose. It is made of Chambourcin and Petit Verdot. This rose is bright, refreshing, and fruity with notes of strawberry.

Stinson Vineyard* is right next door to White Hall so we had to stop by to taste their flights and stock up on their Sauvignon Blanc. We enjoyed laying a blanket down in the vines to sip our flights. Some of our favorites included their Sauvignon Blanc, Rose of Tannat, and Tannat.
