Hello Friends!
Stacey here – I’m back again to share a fun little Date Duo! I have recently been spending a lot of time in the Charlottesville, Virginia area and let me tell you, I’m not mad! The food, the views, the wine, the people.. did I mention the food? Its all so good and I can’t wait to share with you.

Last week I had the opportunity to spend some time at on the Historic Downtown Mall. It is chock-full of things to do, cute shops and places to eat. Follow along to some of the goings on for your summer calendar. My suggestion is Fridays After Five at the Sprint Pavilionif you are looking for a fun Friday Night out.
Alas, I digress, back to the food! As I said, the Historic Downtown Mall has plenty of food options and we checked out The Whiskey Jar. It 100% hit the spot for amazing Southern comfort food & sweet little rustic vibes. They have an extremely versatile menu + an extensive spirit list (The WHISKEY Jar.. get it?)

From our experience, everything we had was AMAZING. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich with fries AND I ordered a side of Macaroni & Cheese, because go big or go home. Am I right?? They serve NC Style BBQ sauce, which is vinegar based and it was perfectly tart & a little spicy. Fries were crisp and the Mac & Cheese was extra cheesy + the portion size was just right for sharing. Cue ‘heart eyes’!

Also worth sampling is The Wilson. Roasted chicken + swiss + bacon = ALL the goodness. The Whiskey Jar is a definite stop on the food train when visiting Charlottesville.
After proclaiming ‘I cant eat another bite!’, we set out to walk around the Downtown Mall and you know I had to stop for some ice cream. So we ducked into this cute little retro shop called Chap’s Ice Cream. Super fun 50’s vibes with old westerns playing on the tv, vintage Coca-Cola coolers and autographed head shots from famous folks who have stopped in.

True to form, I got a kids scoop in a cup with rainbow sprinkles and it brought me right back to being a kid! Rumor has it the milkshakes are rockin’ too. It was a sweet way to end a fun little adventure in Charlottesville!

Thanks for keeping up with my adventures and stay tuned for more Date Duos – every Friday night! Make sure you subscribe to blog and follow along on Instagram @sipsandtripswithpaige! If you want to find me – I’m also on Instagram @staceyshippey
