Date Duos

Hey everybody! First of all, I want to give a huge shout out to my girl Paige for getting this blog started and say that I am so honored to be a guest blogger here at Sips & Trips! A little about me before we get to the good stuff for today’s Date Duo post.

I’m Stacey, a Rome, Georgia native, and a 5-year resident of Richmond, Virginia. Paige and I became friends through our ‘fun job’ as tasting room associates at James River Cellars Winery! We both tell it like it is, LOVE all things wine and good food(!!), exploring new places and planning fun adventures. It is always a good time when we get together!

I live in the Scott’s Addition neighborhood of Richmond with my roommate, Matt. We love this area because of all the fun things to do and amazing places for Happy Hour or dinner. Matt and I love a good happy hour spot and we (read ‘he’) like to play board games – I’m there more for the added entertainment value than as an active participant!

We LOVE Fat Dragon! Awesome vibes, amazing happy hour drink and appetizer specials, wonderful staff and their food is the best.. what more can you ask for? I myself am a creature of habit and I know what I love so I always get their Freestyle Fried Rice with chicken (heart eyes) and Matt likes to mix things up! This week he got Firecracker Shrimp (drool)!!

They have a pretty rockin’ drink selection, and HH price, I recommend the wine on tap, any of their reds always hit the spot. Matt being a beer guy tried out the BINGO Sangrita Gose! 10/10 Scott’s Addition residents (in my opinion) would recommend Fat Dragon! Go check them out – call ahead and make reservations so you can grab a table or just check out the bar!

Back to Board Games – Matt is the organizer of a Meet-up group called the Scott’s Addition Board Game Society. They meet a couple times a month, every other Friday for a fun night of board games, both cheesy – think Cards Against Humanity/What Do You Meme and more serious – Pandemic/Mysterium/Coup.

Most Fridays are at Buskey Cider which is a W for me, since as I mentioned above, I’m more in it as added entertainment than for the actual games. I enjoy Buskey’s selection and how they are always mixing up their flavors. You can get cider by the pint, if you know what you like OR in a flight so you can try a couple different ones to test the waters. They really do have something for everyone and are always releasing new limited fun flavors!

I always go for their RVA Cider, but tried out a flight this week to mix things up! If you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night – come on out to Buskey and join us for game night!

I hope you will check out a couple of my favorite Scott”s Addition spots! Stay tuned for more Date Duos and make sure you follow along by subscribing to the blog and following @Sipsandtripswithpaige on instagram!
